Triage WirelessQualcomm CEO Paul Jacobs told reporters during a trip to South Korea that his firm was looking at wireless and healthcare companies in the country for venture capital investment opportunities. Qualcomm's interest coincides with a government investment promotion program in South Korea.

Qualcomm has a track record of investing in and supporting the development of wireless health companies, including wireless cardiac telemetry company CardioNet, which went public last year, and cuff-less biometric monitoring company Triage Wireless.

Healthcare technology vendors that integrate biometric sensors into devices with wireless radios, like Triage Wireless does, are of particular interest to the company, Jacobs said.
